What makes you excited about going to work? Did you have occasion to put it to use? He kind of took me under his wing and was like a second father figure to me.
What is your vision for the Mid City campus? We vigorously promote the vision that the Health District exists to bring the necessary level of cooperation so everyone is cared for here and to make Baton Rouge a regional destination for health services.

I was an entrepreneur from the time I was about 9 years old, and I had that paper route until I went to college.

I am from a family of 11 children. Two things resonate with me to this day. To know that I help a team whose purpose is to make a difference in the lives of our patients and the lives of the members of the team itself. We had eight boys and three girls.
I learned hospital management from the ground up, so I have great appreciation for the role of every member of the team.
What are the benefits of those, and are more in the works? That was a challenging period for any business, especially ours. If you had to choose one characteristic, what would you says is the most special thing about Baton Rouge General? I just like the way he served his country, lived his life, and worked as a professional, not only in Baton Rouge but in the global sense, and what he meant to emerging economies and the quality of life for others throughout the world.
Our growth and our profits have been unparalleled over the past three years.
Together with other health care members of the district and the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, we will make that dream a reality. Ride dirtbikes with a bunch of old guys at the single track trails of the Kisatchie National Forest.
Who do you most admire in the local business community and why? My background of problem solving and overcoming challenges kicked in during a period when our company needed to re-establish its foundation.
To protect and promote what makes the General great: Collaborative partnerships with physicians and with like-minded organizations strengthen our ability to care for patients. It hosts both inpatient and outpatient services, meets the needs of area patients, and remains an economic engine for the area—people forget we employ more than people at the Mid City campus.
